Dear Dorie
Dorie Moore, wife of 1st Lt. Bill Moore, a fighter pilot assigned to the 339th Fighter Group, Fowlmere, England, kept a scrapbook of Bill's time in the Army Air Forces, including while he was a prisoner of war for nine months at Stalag Luft 1, Barth, Germany. Bill wrote constantly to Dorie and was able to document his time as a POW, with Dorie ultimately compiling everything into a book. (Photo courtesy of Linda Moore)
