Units of the 107th ATKW

The 107th Attack Wing maintains three groups and ten squadrons, including dedicated headquarters staff:



107th Headquarters Staff

The agencies working under the authority of Wing Commander Col Andrew Carlson and Deputy Commander Col Steven Hefferon include: the Comptroller Squadron, Public Affairs, Wing Plans, Equal Opportunity, the Inspector General, Staff Judge Advocate, Wing Safety, Plans, Command Post, Information Protection Office, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response team, and Chapel/ Wellness Team. 

107th Medical Group

The primary mission the 107th Medical Group, under the direction of Lt Col Rhonda Ellison, is to ensure the health and readiness of Airmen within their assigned wing, both in peacetime and wartime, including disaster response and homeland defense. 

107th Mission Support Group

The 107th Mission Support Group, under Lt Col William Gourlay, ensures the wing can effectively perform its assigned tasks by handling a wide range of functions (essential logistical, operational, and administrative support) to enable the wing's primary mission. Squadrons under the 107th MSG include:

107th Operations Group

Under the command of Col. Thomas Griffin, the 107th Operations Group is responsible for the core flying and mission-related activities, including training, deploying, and supporting aircraft and personnel. 

107th Operations Support Squadron

Charged with providing crucial operational and staff support to the rest of the group, the squadron focuses on key functions such as air traffic control, airfield management, weather support, intelligence, training, and mission planning. 

274th Air Support Operations Squadron

The first of two geographically separated units, in Syracuse NY, the 274th ASOS trains, equips and deploys mission qualified tactical air control party (TACP) members consisting of air liaison officers and joint terminal attack controllers (JTAC) in support of the 42nd Infantry Division and 27th and 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Teams. Unit members are tasked with providing advice, guidance and planning considerations to ground commanders on the proper integration of Air Force airpower and close air support into the ground scheme of maneuver. As JTACs, 274th members are further qualified to provide terminal guidance and attack execution in a combat environment.

136th Attack Squadron

Responsible for providing crew members and supporting staff trained to operate the MQ-9 "Reaper"  remotely piloted aircraft. Personnel provide global vigilance and strike capability to support federal authorities while maintaining readiness for state contingencies by providing surveillance and strike support.

222nd Command and Control Squadron

The second of two geographically separated units in Rome, NY,  the 222nd CACS is a space operations unit under the 107th Attack Wing. The squadron is responsible for providing surge and contingency support to the National Reconnaissance Office's operations center.
