107th Logistic Readiness Squadron

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION -- Lt. Col. Deanna Miller took command of the 70 member 107th Logistics Readiness Squadron in an Assumption of Command ceremony here Saturday.
The Logistics Readiness Squadron was previously under the command of Lt. Col. Kenneth Anderson who retired last month.
The ceremony was attended by the members of the Logistics Readiness Squadron, friends and family of Lt. Col. Miller and other members and leadership of the 107th Airlift Wing.
"I am honored to take part in this assumption of command ceremony as I have known Lt. Col. Miller a long time. I know she is the right person at the right time for this job," said Col. Don McGuire, Mission Support Group Commander.
"I have been impressed with Lt. Col. Miller's ability to learn and understand the diverse operations of the squadron and her eagerness to lead it during challenging times that the conversion to the MQ-9 has and will bring," he said.
Lt. Col. Miller graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1984 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1989.
She enlisted with the 914th Airlift Wing in 1987 where she served as an Administrative Specialist until 1989 and subsequently as a Public Affairs Technician until 1993. There she deployed in support of Coronet Oak, Panama.
Lt. Col. Miller transferred to the 107th Fighter Wing in 1993 when she was accepted to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training for the KC-135 Stratotanker. She was commissioned from the Academy of Military Science, Knoxville, TN in 1993 before attending Undergraduate Pilot Training.
After completion of training, she returned to the 107th Air Refueling Group flying the KC-135R until 2007. She additionally served as scheduler and tactics officer for the 136th Air Refueling Squadron followed by Plans Officer for the wing.
In 2007, Lt. Col. Miller assumed the position of Wing Executive Officer for the 107th Airlift Wing working as an executive assistant and advisor to the Wing Commander in the management and administration of services essential to the operation of the Wing. She served in this capacity until February 2014.
Operations she has supported include Deliberate Forge, Joint Guard, Deny Flight, Northern Watch, Phoenix Scorpion Noble Eagle, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, NATO support and Northeast Tanker Task Force.
The 107 LRS is a squadron of logistics professionals who deliver and sustain combat logistics readiness support through vehicle, supply, plans and fuels management. The unit plans and executes movement of passengers and cargo for the 107 Airlift Wing. The 107 LRS executes base deployment operations while maintaining a capability to deploy personnel and cargo in support of the Air Expeditionary Force.
