On Jan 22nd in a ceremony attended by more than 1,000 military members, family, and friends, Colonel Jim McCready assumed command of the 107th Airlift Wing. New York State Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy (on left) passes the Wing's colors to the new commander as the outgoing 107th AW Commander (on right) Col. Patrick Ginavan looks on. Well suited for the new challenge, Col. McCready previously served as the wing's vice commander, responsible for equipping and training the wing?s 800 Airmen. Buffalo Stars 2nd fundraiser nets a win

Col. Jim McCready the 107th Airlift Wing Commander presents a unit coin to Sandi Radwan a Buffalo stars event coordinator. Sandi Radwan along with the Buffalo stars organized a fundraiser that netted $1200 worth of gift cards to local grocery and department stores. The gift cards were then donated to the 107th Family Support. "This is great timing," said Jeanne Goetze the 107th Family Support Coordinator. "With Christmas coming, we have a list of members that can really use some help. These gift cards will really make a difference," she added.

Over the last three months, a variety of fundraisers have been held at the 107th, generating funds to purchase food for the shelter. This annual fundraiser is in its 22nd year and has raised tens of thousands of dollars since its inception. "This is a great way to give back," said Tech. Sgt. Froden. Over the last few months the 107th has held a variety of fund raising events that raised hundreds of dollars which were used to purchase much needed food.
