OPERATION CHRISTMAS COOKIE Published Dec. 6, 2011 By SMSgt Ray Lloyd 107th Airlift Wing Niagara Falls Reserve Station -- The 107th Airlift Wing held its first OPERATION CHRISTMAS COOKIE at the Niagara Falls Reserve Station. This event was held to prepare and send Christmas cookies to deployed members of the 107th and 914th Airlift Wings. Airmen & Family Readiness Program Manager Jeanne Goetze thought of the idea to help boost the holiday spirit of our airman overseas. Unit members took time from their daily routine to help decorate and package over 25 dozen cookies. With the financial support of the 914th Friends of Family Support and local Tops Supermarket, both the cookies and postage were provided. "I like to make my fellow airman feel the Christmas spirit while their away from home so they know that we still keep them in our thoughts and prayers" said SSgt Kelly Dunn, 107th Personnel Specialist. " that's how we roll here at Niagara, I been deployed and getting a care package helps you get though your days overseas" added MSgt Chanda White, 107th Knowledge Operations Manager. Once packaged and shipped, it will take about 10 days to reach the area of operation for the unit members. Both units have members who still have six months to go on their deployment. The Family Readiness Centers is always there to give support for their Airman and Families of the Niagara Falls Reserve Station.
