New England Small Arms Marksmanship Warrior Challenge

Back in April of this year the 107th AW team won their second in a row NY
State TAG Match at Camp Smith, NY. This qualified them to represent NY
State in the National Guards New England Warrior Challenge - Fort Devens Massachusetts.
This 4 day event included 10 matches with pistol and rifle. Including
approximately 70 participants from all services. New York National Guard's
"A" Team the "Gun Fighters" Placed 3rd overall. They also placed 3rd in
the Team Run Down Match & 2nd in the Team Close Quarters Battle Match.
Master Sergeant Edward Stefik received 2 individual awards where he placed 2nd in
Combat Rifle Reflexive Fire & 3rd in the Close Quarters Battle.

"Its an honor to represent the NY State National Guards soldiers & airmen
in such an event. It gave us a chance to meet some great fellow citizen
soldiers and compete against them. The New England Warrior Challenge fell
on the 10th Anniversary of 9-11, and stressed the importance of America's
Minutemen, to always stay vigilant, strong, & motivated." Stated Security
Forces Master Sergeant Edward Stefik an 18 year veteran and who has served in
Iraq with the Army Reserve prior to enlisting in the Air National Guard.

The 107th Gun Fighters will now go on to represent the NY National Guard in
the National Winston P. Wilson Small Arms Sustainment Match, Camp Robinson,
Arkansas
