Members of the 107th Airlift Wing marched in the annual parade this past Memorial Day weekend.

A small group of airmen gathered to participate and show support for those who have served before and who are serving now. They fell into a flight formation and took the path down Pine Ave. where on-lookers cheered for them.

"This means much more to me now that I wear a uniform", said Airman First Class Toria Distefano, a new member to the Wing. "I just got back from tech school and it is a good way to get involved in the community and be a representative of the unit."

The parade ended at Hyde Park and a ceremony took place at the Veteran's Memorial. The 107th Wing Commander, Colonel John Higgins, was the guest speaker at the event.

"This year on Memorial Day, let us remember the men and women who laid down their lives for this great country", said Higgins. "Keep all of our finest young American's who are still serving in harms way in your thoughts and prayers."

Major Brian Dalporto also spoke at the event not only as a 107th member but also as the Chief of Police for Niagara Falls.
