Lieutenant Colonel Emily J. Desrosier assumed command of the 107th Airlift Wing Medical group

Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, Niagara Falls, NY --  Colonel Emily J. Desrosier assumed command of the 107th Airlift Wing Medical Group on Saturday of September's drill.

Lt. Col. Desrosier was assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing as the Medical Administrative Officer since 2008. Her responsibilities included program and plan development as well as overall administration of healthcare medical operations. She also served as Deputy Commander, Credentials Officer, Plans Officer, Approving Official and Community Liaison. Desrosier served as the Airfield Support Coordination Officer for nine years supporting the Space Shuttle Mission. During each shuttle launch she was on a phone bridge and in communication with NORTHCOM, supporting the NASA Space Center. She was part of a trained team tasked with coordinating rescue and recovery efforts in case of a real-world emergency.

"I'm honored to be here and ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work," said Lt. Col. Emily Desrosier. "Our nation is still at war and it's my sincere promise I will give my all and lead the exceptional team of men and women of this medical group."

She is replacing outgoing Medical Group Commander Colonel Michael Torres.

"I want to thank the 107th for letting me be part of this team," said Colonel Michael Torres, while addressing the unit for the final time. "It has been the culmination of my career."
